Difference Between Fiction and Non-Fiction

Difference Between Fiction and Non-Fiction

Books have been around for centuries, inspiring the imagination of so many.  There are stories about vampires, creatures coming from the sea, and even children that change into animals.  As you read through these books or watch movies based on them, it is hard to tell what is real and what isn't. However, the genres of books are created. There are two main types of books that are easy to separate: fiction and nonfiction books. These two different genres will make more sense once they are split apart in their ways. The reason to create the stories in the book does not mean that fiction can't have real things in their stories, but it is meant to tell the reader what truly happened without many made-up parts within it. You can learn these two types by reading following step by step.

Types of books:

1.      Fiction books
2.      Non-Fiction books

Definition of Fiction Books:

Fiction is a type of book where the events taking place within it are made up by either one author or many collaborating. This means they can be anything from do claims to tales about little girls trying to fit in.  There are plenty of examples of fiction books that would be great to read, but just remember they might not all be the truth.  One example is The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, this book not only won awards for being a good book, but it is also classified as fiction because the events in it never really happened.

Some Examples of Fiction books:

1.  Percy Jackson and The Olympians: The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan

2.  The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkien

3.  The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

Definition of Non-Fiction Books:

Non-fiction deals with true information or stories about real people and places. It is a type of book that is thought to be the truth.  This means it tells about actual events and can also include things like biographies of famous people who lived before us. It is seen as something people would need because it could help with their current situation. There are tons of great examples of nonfiction books you should read like How Great Leaders Inspire Action by Jocelyn Green which explains how great leaders were able to lead through their struggles. This is one of the many nonfiction books you should check out to expand your knowledge about other cultures and times throughout history.

Some Examples of Non-Fiction books:

1.  The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin by enjamin Franklin)

2.  What to Expect When You're Expecting by Heidi Murkoff, Sharon Mazel)

3.  A Manual for Writers of Research Papers, Theses, and Dissertations by Kate L Turabian)
